Oracle GoldenGate MicroServices Training FAQ'S
OGG MA is a modern, REST-enabled, service-based architecture introduced in Oracle GoldenGate 12.3. It provides a secure, scalable, and cloud-ready replication platform. Unlike the classic architecture, each component (Extract, Replicat, Admin, Distribution, Receiver) runs as a microservice with its own REST API and web UI.
Each service has its own configuration files located in JSON format. Configuration can be managed via REST APIs, Web UI, or manually editing files. Deployments are organized into deployment homes, allowing multiple deployments on the same server.
A deployment is an isolated instance of Oracle GoldenGate services with its own configuration, ports, and directories. Each deployment includes the full stack of services like Admin Server, Distribution Server, and so on.
It routes trail files from the source system to one or more target systems over HTTP/HTTPS. It replaces the Data Pump process from Classic Architecture and supports secure transmission of data.
