One essential element of the SAP ERP system, SAP SD handles the shipping, billing, selling, and transportation of goods inside an organization.
The SAP Sales and Distribution module, which is a component of SAP Logistics, maintains client relationships from the creation of a quotation to the placement of a sales order and the billing of the good or service. Other modules like SAP Material Management and PP are tightly connected with this one.
The SAP SD organization structure is primarily divided into two stages: Creating organizational elements in the SAP system and then linking each element in accordance with requirements. The sales organization, which is in charge of the distribution of goods and services, is at the highest level of the organizational structure in the SD module.
In order to facilitate reporting, SAP advises minimizing the number of sales organizations in organizational structures to a minimum. Ideally, there should only be one sales organization.
The method by which an organisation distributes its goods and services to its customers is referred to as the distribution channel. A division in an organisational structure is a single organization’s line of products or services.
